Nature Conservation Launches

8th Jul 2017

On 1 June 2017 Cape to Cape Catchments Group officially changed its name to Nature Conservation Margaret River Region or Nature Conservation for short.

The new name better describes what we do and where we work and is also part of a bold new strategy to inspire community engagement in and support for nature conservation in the Margaret River region.

Nature Conservation, with a new experienced Board of Management, aims to foster a community conservation culture across all sectors of our community assisting both residents and visitors to value, respect and care for our natural environment.

We hope our existing members, colleagues and volunteers will join with us on this exciting journey.

Since 2002 Cape to Cape Catchments Group has partnered with the community to address the key environmental challenges facing the Margaret River region.

Nature Conservation will continue this work and leverage the strength of the community by raising awareness, inspiring commitment and empowering action on behalf of the environment.

We aim to do this by combining grassroots community support with sound conservation science and pragmatic policy initiatives.

Nature Conservation is committed to community consultation, collaborative partnerships and an apolitical, results-oriented approach to conservation.

We encourage and facilitate community engagement in caring for terrestrial, aquatic and coastal ecosystems essential to the health and resilience of the Margaret River region environment. This is achieved through a range of programs that include:
