The Healthy Waterways project works
with landholders, the community and agencies
to protect and enhance local waterways.

This project has supported the development and implementation of 7 river action plans in the Cape to Cape region detailing the condition of waterways and prioritising management actions.

River action plans have been developed for:

  • Yallingup Brook
  • Gunyulgup Brook
  • Wilyabrup Brook
  • Cowaramup Brook
  • Ellen Brook
  • Margaret River
  • Boodjidup Brook

The project provides technical advice and financial assisance to land managers and the community to implement the following actions:

  • Fencing of streams and wetlands from stock
  • Construction of livestock crossings
  • Erosion control
  • Weed and feral animal control
  • Revegetation with local species
